Evening Bougainvillea (Plein Air)

“After taking a few photos and drawing some small sketches, I went back home to work on a bigger version of this scene. The next day, I went back and worked on it responding to the setting sun. Painting from life is essential especially for the old impressionists and is a practice I wish to get back into more in the coming years. I’ve actually painted this same shrub in 2012 for my high school art exams and wanted to revisit them, to see how far I’ve come. Do you guys recognise which part of singapore this is in?”
