White Bougainvillea

While visiting a neighbourhood in Queenstown, I walked past a house with a resplendent shrub full of white flowers. Catching the late afternoon light, the white petals seem to take a variety of pastel colours and this is the quality I was trying to capture with this painting. This inspiration came at a timely hour because I was dying to paint some apple blossom trees full of white flowers which aren’t found in Singapore and this painting really managed to satisfy that desire.
